We are seeking energetic and organized individuals who have a passion for children to run one of our company-owned model centers. This is a unique opportunity for hardworking individuals to experience the full cycle of business operations!

 

Location - Stadacona Centre - 1560 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8S 5J2.

Duration of contract: One year contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  

  1. Manage and direct the day to day operations of the centre.
  2. Place worksheet orders, print session by sessions, handle adjustments, handle phone inquiries.
  3. Administer math and reading placement tests, provide orientation including individualized needs assessment and study projections, lesson planning, etc.
  4. Conduct training for new centre staff as needed.
  5. Coordinate staffing schedules to effectively manage the centre within budgeted payroll parameters.
  6. Pay all rent, utility, alarm, maintenance, etc. bills in connection with running a retail operation.
  7. Collect monthly tuition.
  8. Make and conduct appointments for parent orientations and conferences.
  9. Update the centre e‐page and update centre newsletter.
  10. Manage expenses to ensure delivery of all services, optimize spending and manage adherence to company standards.
  11. Ensure timely implementation and on‐going adherence to all Corporate initiatives for instructional, marketing, operational and business programs.
  12. The centre also operates as a training centre for new employees and franchisees.
  13. The centre also is the test centre for new products and instructional strategies.
  14. Evaluate local demographics and create marketing strategies for centre growth.

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelors’ degree.
  • Combination of teaching and business work experience of at least 5 years.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to recruit and motivate people, instills accountability and achieves results.
  • Intermediate level of:   Analytical, project/process management, computer technical skills and equipment operation skills; advanced oral and written communications skills.

  • Supervises the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards.
  • Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing work performance and administering corrective actions.
  • Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods and carries out work activities independently; supervisor/manager is available to resolve problems.
  • Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department. Job may contribute to important strategy, operational and business decisions that affect the department.
