    Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program and one of the most established franchise businesses in the world — with more than 300,000 students enrolled and more than 1,500 individually owned and operated Kumon Math and Reading Centres in the U.S. and Canada alone.

     

    The role of the graphic designer will be to deliver a variety of tactical creative materials including but not limited to website and social media content, local level ads and communication materials, window installations, exterior signage and internal program materials; all in line with the global Kumon brand standards. 

     

    Location: Kumon Canada, Inc (Head Office: 6240 Highway 7, Woodbridge ON, L4H 4G3)

    Duration of contract: One year contract with the possibility of extension.

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    1. Produce attractive and effective designs for all media
    2. Work with existing global creative assets and adapt for local markets as required
    3. Create one-off creative assets for various activities such as student award events, open houses, and localized promotions
    4. Produce consistent work that live up to brand standards regardless of project size
    5. Reformat, resize and tweak existing creative as needed
    6. Work under tight deadlines and changing priorities while satisfying client expectations and carrying several projects at once
    7. Follow up with clients for status updates and revisions through online platforms
    8. Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches to portray creative concepts and ideas
    9. Communicate with marketing team members to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job

    Qualifications

    • Post – Secondary diploma or degree in graphic design or visual communications
    • Proficient knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite:
    • InDesign
    • Illustrator
    • Photoshop
    • Acrobat
    • Basic Knowledge in:
    • After Effects
    • Premiere Pro
    • Microsoft Word
    • Power Point
    • Web Design
    • Analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
    • 2‐5 years related experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate opinions and ideas
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
    • Willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
    • Accuracy and attention to detail when finalizing designs
    • Capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a team environment
    • Passion for the education industry
