    This part-time, paid internship will offer hands-on experience and a glimpse into a working communications department at a global corporation’s national headquarters. The communications intern can expect to gain insight into public relations strategy, social media trends and best practices, and fine-tune writing skills through the development of social and digital content.


    Public Relations

    • Create strategic media contact lists
    • Draft press releases and student success stories
    • Monitor news for coverage and maintain digital clip report
    • Research relevant news stories and industry trends
    • Seek out potential media opportunities

    Social Media

    • Caption branded videos for upload to social media channels
    • Maintain YouTube channel video uploads
    • Edit full length videos to 30 second clips for social media
    • Create additional social media assets (e.g. images with text overlay, GIFS, etc.)
    • Maintain social media engagement report


    The ideal candidates are current college juniors/seniors or recent graduates with completed coursework in journalism, public relations, communications or related fields. Successful applicants will possess:

    • Excellent communication, research, writing and organizational skills
    • Ability to work easily in team environment or independently
    • Motivated self-starter that can take the initiative and ownership of projects
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Ability to multitask
    • Prior internship is a bonus, but not a requirement
    • Basic knowledge and comfortability with Adobe Creative Suite
